Fogo De Chao
I got this info from Dave K. Looks like a great special occasion place. Last Saturday I went down to rest. row at 133 N. La Cienaga (310) 289-7755 (across from Lawry's) to Fogo De Chao fogodechao.com. It turned out to be some of the best quality tasting meat and preparation, service- etc. that I have had in a long time even compared to the top steak houses like Mortons and Ruth Chris. The main reason for writing this is that I pleasantly surprised to find: A. The Manager knew what Celiac disease was, and manager came by without even asking for him! B. Most everything was gluten-free. Including these very nice small dinner rolls baked from yucca- they were excellent. I have not had fresh bread since diagnosis in 02'. (I don't cook or bake). The polenta "bars", fried banana..., mashed potatoes, etc. I intend to go there a few times a year. It is somewhat pricey- not a family restaurant at ~$53.00 a person + drinks, but all you can eat meats (skewers delivered by waiters, churrascaria style, shoo-HOSS-ka-REE-ah). Reservations are required I believe. Valet is $4.50. I have no financial interest nor any affiliation with this business of course...
